After careers in Graphic Design, Anne moved into teaching graphics, art and ceramics to a broad spectrum of age ranges up to mature students. Anne’s natural talents combined with a desire for artistic freedom, became an inevitable magnet to devote her full attention to fine art painting.
Her work has taken many directions across a broad range of subjects, at the same time moving through oil, acrylic and mixed media, but with water based medium always dominant throughout her extensive body of work.
Subjects have also been ‘on the move’ over the years with strong influences from her travels. Interior scenes often combined with people in everyday situations have become subjects for which Anne has received most acclaim.
Apart from numerous independent galleries, Anne’s work has achieved much recognition by the leading and celebrated national art societies and institutes. These include works being selected by:
RI (Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour)
RWS (Royal Watercolour Society)
ROI (Royal Institute of Oil Painters)
RA (Royal Academy Summer Exhibition)
SWA (Society of Women Artists)
Anne has been directly involved in promoting artistic talents throughout the art world. This is illustrated by holding the posts of Past Vice President of the SWA, a serving member on the RI Council and currently a member of the FBA’s (Fed. of British Artists) Culture and Education committee.
